On Sunday, May 7, 2006, the Epsilon Institute went to Holland, MI to capture the brilliance of the city's tulips. Throughout various cities each year, Tulip Festivals are held in honor of this springtime flower. The host cities are places that were founded by settlers from the Netherlands. In Holland, Michigan, the annual Tulip Time Festival has been held every year since 1929. Literally thousands of tulips are on display throughout the city, to showcase the arrival of spring. Tulip Time is the largest tulip festival in the nation, and is America's third largest town festival.
We know that not everyone can drive out to see these tulips, so Epsilon figured we would bring these tulips to you. The photos taken here were from Centennial Park, in downtown Holland. Even though it's a big park, we would like to point out that there are still hundreds, if not thousands, more tulips to be found in Holland. Here now are some of the highlights from our photo shoot.
Those look familiar... very nice pics.
ReplyDeleteYou know, if the Dutchies weren't so stuck on these stupid flowers perhaps they would rule the world today rather than us. Foolios!
ReplyDeleteWe're not really all that interested in ruling the world. "Make love, not war", that's the Dutch motto right there. That's also where the phrase "Dutch evangelism" came from.
ReplyDeleteCool pics Chuck!
