Party at the Jurries, 2006

On Thursday, August 24, an outdoor party was scheduled to occur at the Jurries. Hours had been spent cleaning up the patio, painting, and decorating, getting everything all set and looking great for the party. But then, it happened. Checking up on the radar around four o'clock - a whole 2 1/2 hours before partytime! - a very large system of rain was noticeable on the radar. And we were due to get some of it, right when the party began.

In a controlled flurry, we worked to remove the lights, the tiki torches and the decorations from the backyard and moved some stuff inside. Within no time, the house was all decked out for a party. Friends and co-workers were invited to come enjoy burgers, desserts and "good company" for the night. Once the rain let up, many guest went out to a field to enjoy a impromptu game of volleyball. Back inside, card games a plenty were had by all. And we got to eat plenty of M&M's.

In the Flickr slideshow below, you will first see a few photos of the party that might have been. Look closely at the red shed: notice the lights strung around it? One problem that we had last year was leading people out of the party into the driveway. That pathway can get kind of dark, so we had a strand of outdoor lights laying down next to the path to help guide people in and out of the party. Then you'll get a brief glimpse as to how we had the interior decorated for the surprisingly indoor party. Then, it's party time.

If you like an image and want to save it to your own computer, too bad. NO, no, no. Actually, you can save an image to your own computer, and it's pretty easy. Click here first, before you do anything else. That loads up a different menu with all the pictures in the slideshow below. From there, if you click on a individual picture, you get a myriad of options on the top of a image in grey print. One of the options is called All Sizes and is symbolized by a magnifying glass. Click on that. Not only does it then give you the larger size right then and there, it gives you the option of downloading the image to your computer.

If that's too much hassel (and I can see where it can be), just e-mail me at eChuckler@yahoo.com and I'll send you the pictures that you want. It's that simple, too.
