Casting News at Last!

My favorite part about the start of production season in the magically odd land of television is casting news. Who's leaving, who's joining, how many unknowns versus known actors, and so forth. And after weeks of television sites just yakking away about T.R. Knight and Gizzie and how Callie will be so mad, yada yada, it's nice to get some new news! Here's who's joining shows that I care about*:

Lost
Rebecca Mader - Last seen on FOX's Justice, this daytime soap villianess will be joining the show when it returns in February as a recurring character. No details are known about her character, although it is rumored that she will play an intelligent spitfire, a role that Kristin "Veronica Mars" Bell turned down.
Jeremy Davies - He has signed on for eight episodes of the (once) popular island drama. He played Upham in Saving Private Ryan and is currently on-screen in Rescue Dawn.
Lance Reddick - The Wire and Oz star, who also had a 6-episode stint on SVU, will be joining Lost as an "intimidating" character.
Ken Leung - Known for his role as Kid With Spikes In His Face in X-Men 3 and as a crazy guy in The Sopranos, we actually don't know who he'll be playing. It sounds like he may have been hired for a role that only the two showrunners know about.

24
Cherry Jones - A Broadway star and also a favorite of M. Night Shamalyan, this well-respected thespian will be playing Commander in Chief when the clock starts anew in January.
Colm Heore - This well-known Canadian actor will presumably be a household name in the States by the time season seven is done. Heore is joining the show as the First Gentlemen, husband to the character played by Cherry Jones.
Rhys Coiro - Known for a stint on Entourage, Coiro joins the show as (SPOILERS!) part of the FBI task force that will be replacing CTU.
Janeane Garofalo - The comedienne/actress/activist/talk-show-host will be joining the show in what is presumed to be a rather meaty role as a systems analyst for the FBI unit. This probably means she'll have a lot of face-time with Chloe, which will make Larry Sanders proud.

Oh, wait... those are pretty much the only shows that I care about who's joining. Interesting!

* Excludes Heroes, in part to the fact that I'm sure Blogger has some sort of word limit and therefore I could not possibly post every actor who has signed on for a role this season.
