While NBC's Chuck is still a little slow to find it's feet and way too eager to use compare-contrast scenes between characters, it can still be funny, quirky and after this week's episode, it has won my heart forever. Why? Because they played the musical piece "Santa Maria (Del Buen Ayre)" by Gotan Project. (At least, I think that was the piece.)
That so happens to be one of my favorite groups of all time, to-date. And they played the song twice in the episode! Oh, they can't win me over with the fact that the main character has a funny-sounding last name, or the fact that the title character "Chuck" wears Chucks (the shoes), which, I'm Chuck and I don't wear Chucks and have never even thought to, because, well, why? But, keep putting in slightly obscure-but-wonderful music like Gotan Project's stuff and I will be forever grateful.
In other TV news, Ever Carradine is joining 24. And so is John Billingsley. Since there is no longer a need to care about whatever plot they improvise each episode, it'll at least be fun to see these two actors on-screen. (Maybe even together?) Ever Carradine was a standout in Commander in Chief, so I hope that can translate to 24. And if 24 plays music by Gotan Project, I'll love them even more.
