July 2, 2008, a series of severe thunderstorms rolled through West Michigan. While the most reckless thing I did during the storm was take a shower while still in the at-risk area for lightning, other people went out of their way to get video in a daring situation. And, to be honest, if I had a good digital videocamera, I would be out being reckless as well. To supplement that, I have posted some videos that people have sent in to WOODTV.com.
Clouds swirling around. Nothing tornado-like in that video, but still creepy.
Torrential rain, wind and hail at RiverTown Crossings mall:
The fact that there is no sound makes this brief video of the strong winds almost more fearful.
This is a good video of the hail. And you can't help but agree with the narration.
This is an even creepier video, showing an even stronger rotation in Clinton County.
