ShamWOW!

Greetings from the RoboPost! I'm still camping. And there may not be a Monday post. We'll see. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Have you seen the commercials for ShamWOW!TM? It features this guy with a very active voice, talking about the virtues of this super sponge-like towel. At one point during the commercial, he says "are you following me, camera guy?" I know that may be part of a script the actor was given, but nevertheless, I kind of want to inflict physical harm whenever I hear that line. (I never would, don't worry. I hate killing spiders! I could never physically harm someone.) The camera guy has a job, and he is doing it, and doing it well. And you have a job, you do it well. Does the camera guy say, "are you following me, on-screen talent guy?" NO. There is no need to belittle the camera person. It does not make you relatable, unless you want to relate to a bunch of overbearing jerks.

The towels apparently leave behind streaks, too. ShamWOW!TM? Just a sham, sadly.

  1. I'd hope a damned camera man would be able to follow the only person on a screen.

I love how it is 'in real time' and yet right after he says that the screen gets cut to an already dried carpet pretty much.
