Want to be in a direct-to-video movie? Pay $100!! So it may not be the most glamerous way to start off your career as a professional extra (and those folks make good money, I might add), but this Craigslist listing is interesting:
The DC Comedy Agency will be shooting a straight to DVD feature this summer in Grand Rapids Michigan. The film will star Trevor Snarr and Bracken Johnson, the two main bad guys from Napoleon Dynamite. (Bracken kicked Napoleon's tots, Trevor is the main blond haired bully) We are looking for 40 core extras, both male and female, age 18-25. The shot will last 14 days in August of 07. The DVD will be released into video stores nation wide in the summer of 08. Due to the film's tight budget, core extras will be asked to donate 100 dollars to the film to help offset the cost of food.
I have no clue what this DVD is, except it looks like it may be a small promotional thing, if the DC Comedy Group's website is any indication. (Yes, I know that website says "group" and not "agency"... I'm not going to explain my web searching now, but that's the organization.) So if you want to sign away 14 days, pay for food for some film that may or may not be seen by potentially dozens, sign up right now!
If that's not your forte, you could always dress up as Spider-Man.
