Next semester, in a perfect world, these are the classes I will be taking:
- SP 102: Spanish II (4 Credits)
- JR 251: Introduction to Journalism (3 Credits)
- AN 210: Cultural Anthropology (3 Credits)
- PL 207: Moral Choices in Contemporary Society (3 Credits)
Together, that's 13 credits. Not to mention that JR 251 is working on the student newspaper, which will require plenty of extra time on campus. So that should be enough for me, right? Nope! Because that would be easy, and I'm not sure I'm wired to never, ever worry about something. I was looking through the course catalogue the other day when I noticed a course I had glanced over before, Broadcast Communications. It's a night class, 3 credits, and it's mainly a lecture about the history, techniques and goings-on of broadcasting. Now, I'm not aiming to be a broadcaster at all, but that sounds like a bunch of fun! And it's something that I'd really, really like to take.
BUT... It's not part of the GVSU Journalism OR Communications program. It'd just be another class that I'd have taken. So it's not required, and taking it would bring me up to 16 credits, which is 3 more than I've ever taken so far. BUT... That class sounds like so much fun, and if I'm going to be on campus a lot anyways, why not take that night class?
I don't know. Because, I don't need this class at all. And taking it on would add a bunch of work to what looks to be an already busy semester. But, it looks like soo much fun! (And I had the instructor before, and he's lots of fun.) The dilemmas I face, I'll tell 'ya...
