Upfront Predictions: NBC

Oh, TV... how I love the choke hold you have over my life! In just a few weeks, the networks hold their "Upfronts" where they reveal the fall schedule. We find out what shows are returning, which ones are cancelled and what new shows to expect. (It's a very emotional time for TV fans!) Anywho, here are some of my predictions. You don't have to read them, I'm just putting them out here, now, and I'll revisit them later on to see if I'm right.

NBC
- Winters, a new show helmed by the House people. Starring Famke Janssen, Sarah Clarke, Dorian Missick and Xander Berkley, this show is a geek's casting dream come true! Famke plays a detective who is tough-as-nails, who is parterned with a detective who see's the good in people. A drama.
- Lipstick Jungle, starring Brooke Shields, Kim Raver, Julian Sands and a bunch of other faces you'll reckognize. It's Sex in the City, but set in a high-level CEO setting. And instead of getting Mr. Big, they are Mr. Big. Or Ms. Big. Or Mrs. Big. Whatever. It's got name power, and NBC loves that. A drama.
- The Bionic Woman, starring Michelle Ryan in this update of the iconic spin-off of a classic TV series. Basically, this time around, the Bionic Woman is a soccer mom who is so busy with the demands of life that she turns to biotics to become a stronger woman. But then she has to figure out how to live life as... the Bionic Woman! They'll probably pair this with Heroes, assuming it gets picked up. A drama.
- Lipshitz Saves the World, a oddly-titled program about a 17-year-old who becomes a superhero and has to hang around with Leslie Nielsen and his celebrity buddies. For real! I hope it gets picked up, if anything, who wouldn't want to be a superhero and hang out with Leslie Nielsen? A comedy.
- Area 57, starring Paul Reuben. The press release pretty much says it's just about Area 57 and the HILLARIOUS hijinks that ensue. Yeah... But, put it with the two shows above and Heroes and NBC has themselves a "out-of-this-world super-night" of programming. Until all those new shows get cancelled. A comedy.
- Welcome to the Family, a reality show narrated by Bernie Mac that tracks "the first meeting between an engaged couple's disparate families."

NOT Predictions: These shows have been cancelled:
Andy Barker, P.I., The Black Donnellys, Kidnapped.

NOT Predictions: Renewed for a full season are Heroes, 30 Rock, The Apprentice, ER, Football Night in America, Las Vegas, Law & Order: SVU, My Name is Earl, The Office and Sunday Night Football.
