It is currently the season of open houses. Fortunately/unfortunately, the vast majority of open houses I've been invited to are for people I actually
like, so I've been eating a LOT of store-bought cake. And ham buns. Anywho, here are some random images from my summer thus far, and tell me if you spot a central theme amongst them...

I had the opportunity to play wedding photographer for a second time.
It is a very stressful job, but the main perk is being in the know for all the
behind-the-scenes stuff going on. THAT is exciting.
(This photo was taken at the rehearsal, where there was food served afterwards.)

This is Fennec Fox playing at a fundraiser dinner for a mission trip.
There was food to be eaten, I should point out.

Oh.... I just can't explain this picture. Where this was taken, though, there WAS food...

While cleaning my room I found this horrible, nasty big bee laying dead in my window.
My bedroom is above the kitchen,
where there is food!

Here's a picture of some robin's eggs, which were laying on the ground next
to a dugout at Freedom Baptist School. Where, I'm sure, they eat food.

Here I take a picture of me in my crazy tourist garb, en route to Festival of the Arts,
WHERE THERE IS FOOD! (Notice a theme about my summer, now?)

It was so wrong, it was mesmerizing... There were Arabian belly-dancers on a stage at Festival.
They used props, too, like swords, sticks, (blankets? What are those?), and so forth. It was funny for a while until, for a split-second, one dancer reminded me of one of my aunt's. Then I began thinking that the aunt in question probably WOULD do Arabian belly-dancing. Then it lost some of it's luster.

I took a break from Festival to go to Hager Park in Jenison for a open house. (Food!)
It was
very pretty - and peaceful! - that night in the park.

But, to be fair, it was still very pretty that night in downtown GR...

Here I am at a wedding reception for a co-worker, Sarah.
(SIDENOTE: See above my shoulder the handle on the door? You would think you need to PULL on the door to make it open, right? Wrong. Those doors you had to PUSH. It was a constant source of amusement for some.)

This picture of baby Stu was taken when Stacy and I went to visit Janna for, wait for it -
lunch.

Pete and John give a mini-concert to guests at Pete's not-open house.
(Just say it with me: "Where there was
food!")
I also learned that
yes, some home-schoolers ARE still weird.
Perhaps I'll try to do something this summer that does not wind up being related to food...
Which aunt?
