These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Grandville has wildlife. This has come as a bit of a surprise to me. (It shouldn't.) While enjoying my long walks, I have seen many varieties of ducks and geese. I've seen many birds and rabbits, not to mention all their younglings. You see dogs, you see cats. I've even heard some bats! A chipmunk or two, perhaps a rat thrown in. There are all those strange bugs that stay in a pack of hundreds, but don't really do anything other than just fly around. (What ARE those?) But the most incredible things I've seen are: a Hawk and a Doe. Not together, mind you. But on separate conditions. In fact, the Doe and I had a couple staring contests! We were staring for a while, until I noticed some bikers coming down the trail, so I got the creature into the woods by walking towards it. Later, we found each other again and continued to stare at one another, both in complete wonder, I'm sure. The hawk, meanwhile, continues to hang around different areas of Grandville and I'm sure I'm much more likely to see it again in the future.

  1. Dude, next time you see a doe, kill it and bring it home for dinner.
