I hate TV critics

Yes, yet another TV rant. Shut up. And while we're at it, can you ask the TV critics to shut up and stop being so hypocritical? Take, for instance, the abundance of praise they now lavish upon Heroes, saying that it's soooo much better than Lost. One writer even dared to say that people have stopped watching Lost so they can watch Heroes. Which, is stupid, because they're on completely different nights at different times. And, Lost is a mystery/drama, Heroes is a action/drama. The closest comparison for Heroes is probably Alias. The only thing it has in common with Lost is it's freakin' large cast and a serialized storyline. But that's hardly new or unique!

I watch Heroes on the weekend, because my VCR can only tape one network at a time when I'm at work, so I wach 24 first. I saw plenty of headlines throughout the week bestowing praise upon this recent episode of Heroes, saying that it was SOOOOOO good. And I saw an abundance of critics who lampooned this week's episode of Lost, because although it was an emotional roller coaster, it didn't really answer any questions.

Well, I just watched Heroes, and guess what? This episode was an emotional roller coaster but didn't answer ANY questions at all! Seriously, it was supposed to be a big reveal about "Horn-Rimmed Glasses," a man who is so mysterious we don't even know his first name. We still don't. We even got Lost-esque flashbacks, which STILL told us nothing. But we got to see HRG tell Claire that she was adopted! And that he had a shady associate, and that he shot Claude. But who does he work for? Don't know. What does the organization do? Still don't know. And, without giving away the end of the episode, we probably will NEVER, EVER know.
If it weren't for the last 3 minutes, this episode would have been a complete waste. That said, those three minutes were awesome, and do make up for the rest of the episode. But as far as character revelations, I feel jipped.

I'm sooo ticked off, just because soooo many people said this episode was awesome and, it was, but it didn't answer any questions at all. This was the 17th episode and we STILL don't have really any clue what HRG's organization does? AT ALL? And we're still looking for the sword?

Heroes better enjoy the rest of it's freshman season, because when they keep up exactly what they're doing now, and not answering some major questions into later seasons, they'll be blasted by the same critics who once adored them. Just like Lost.

EDIT: It would seem that, scouring episode reviews and message boards, I'm pretty much the only person on the PLANET that had, at the least, an inkling of reservation after this last episode. So take that as you will.

  1. Did you even watch the episode? Not only did it do a ton to advance the story, it did answer several questions. You said we don't know who HRG works for...did you not see the scene on the rooftop? HUGE ANSWER there. (Also, baby Hiro? Awesome!)
(BTW, you can't complain about Hiro not getting his sword this past episode seeing how as the plot focused on only a couple characters, Hiro not being one of them)

We also learned more about the Haitian and his story and possible connection to Jessica/Nikki, HRG motivations...plus, there were almost as many great lines as this weeks Lost. (Hard to top Hurley, though) And not a single kite-flying scene to be found.

  2. This episode advanced the story about AS much as an episode of Lost does. A few answers, but still more open questions than there are answers. And considering this was supposed to be the big reveal-all, and considering how much the brains behind Heroes have been braggin how they've learned from Lost's mistakes, I was sorely dissapointed. It was still a good episode, but, it wasn't as great as everyone hyped it up to be.

It's like being promised a Mercedes and only getting a Impala. It's still wicked cool, but, not wicked awesome.

At least with Lost, the kite flying lasted about 90 seconds or so. Niki/Jessica live on eternally. >_<

I absolutely love Heroes, but it is becoming increasingly hard to compare it to Lost, which is what everyone is doing! It is a completely different kind of show. You minus well compare Law and Order: SVU to ER. They're both dramas, both have people, but the situations are different enough where they can exist in complete harmony with each other.

But people DO compare the two shows, and claim that Heroes is better. (Compare a freshman show to a show in it's third season? Not quite the same, first of all.) And this was a highly-hyped episode, supposedly answering all sorts of questions. It answered a few, but not a lot. And this episode got praised. But when Lost answers a few questions, but doesn't answer a lot, it gets trashed. People compare the two shows, but treat Heroes differently, for some reason.

And we did "learn" who HRG works for. But is he really in charge? Or is it like when in Alias when we learned that Lauren and Sark's boss was Quentin Taritino, who may or may not have been the ultimate boss?

We still don't know exactly what the "comapny" does. We don't know what they're testing the "heroes" for. And now we don't know really what the Haitan's role is. And what George Takei and Eric Robert's roles are.

It was a wicked episode, but it does not prove it is better than Lost. THAT's my point. It just proves it's good TV, and that people better expect there to be some unanswered questions and stop expecting serial dramas to have a Q&A or something at the end of each episode to reveal "mysteries", even when half the "mysteries" are but mere plot points.

  3. Please view these clips and videos and check out the website that follows. The following clips prove that a criminal network within our government/private sector was responsible for the collapse of the three World Center buildings on 9/11 and consequently the death of thousands. The only way for us to assure that we do not fall prey to another government-sponsored terror attack is to make the truth behind 9/11 known all throughout the country and recognized all throughout the media. The traitorous perpetrators of 9/11 would be deterred from carrying out another scheme of mass deception for fear that it would trigger the country to revolt against the government, rather than bring the country together like 9/11 did. So please share this with others and press for the truth to be recognized for the sake of our security and sanity.

-molten steel spewing out the side of tower, which could only be produced by an incendiary device containing an ingredient like thermate/thermite since jet fuel does not burn hot enough (around 800 degrees C) to melt steel (around 1300 degrees C)

-an example of what thermate/thermite does to steel which is usually used to weld or cut steel

-firefighters describing molten steel as lava-like at ground zero

-cleanup team finds hot steel glowing red and orange all over ground zero

-New York Mayor Rudy Giulliani accidentally admits on news that he got warning from government official to leave WTC complex that morning because the towers would be coming down despite firemen, fire department, police department, and reporters on scene not knowing

-Building 7 collapses at nearly free fall speed (about 7 seconds--free fall speed for bldg. that height is about 6 seconds) which defies laws of gravity unless all significant points of structual resistance to the collapse were removed by controlled demolition charges. The reason the towers didn't fall at nearly free fall speed is because their demolition was top-down, not bottom-up like Building 7. Footage of their collapse confirms this.

-leaseholder of WTC complex accidentally admits on PBS special that they "pulled" Building 7

-later segment of same PBS special unwittingly confirms that "pull" is a term used for demolishing a building as a contractor uses the same term to describe demolishing Building 6 weeks after attack. The official explanation for the collapse of Building 7 was that fire and debris damage from the towers weakened the building's structure. The admission that Building 7 was demolished proves that the building's collapse was prepared BEFORE 9/11 since it would have been impossible for a demolish team to place demolition charges all throughout the building in a matter of a few hours, especially in a building with an ongoing fire and damage from debris.

-BBC reports Building 7 (Salomon Brothers building) has collapsed due to fire damage weakening the building BEFORE it actually collapsed, showing that the perpetrators scripted the collapse for the media by preparing an explanation for the collapse to avoid any unfavorable speculation in the immediate aftermath. As you will see, they got it out too early. (Forward this clip to 14:45 to see the report. The comments added highlight the blunder.)

-confirmation that the Salomon Brothers building is Building 7

-emergency workers instructing bystanders to get back because Building 7 is "coming down soon" and is "about to blow up"

To get a better idea of how all these pieces fit into the puzzle, I recommend watching the two videos below and checking out the online journals below. The videos provide more in-depth explanations and also show how 9/11 was not the only time and place that false-flag terrorist operations have been carried out. The journal shows some of the scientific work that has been done to expose the official story as a fraud.
